Despite stringent laws and awareness campaigns, drivers in the city fall prey to distraction due to mobile devices. These hotspots include Punjabi Bagh, Tilak Nagar, Kalkaji, Nangloi, Karol Bagh, Defence Colony, Sangam Vihar, Dwarka, Safdarjung Enclave and Najafgarh.

what does the rule say

For your information, let us tell you that driving while using a mobile phone is considered illegal. It is illegal under Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This can result in a fine of Rs 5,000 and suspension of driving license for three months.

According to experts, mobile addiction is the reason behind this problem. People are so addicted to smartphones that they are unable to live without their phones for even a minute. This is why many times people use their phones while driving and become victims of accidents.
